Good for the SEALs. They were the ones who did the work. I'd be pissed too if Barack was trying to claim credit as a cheap political point. The SEALs are also pissed at Barack for all the attention he's brought to SEAL team 6, which is supposed to be very secretive.

So, one former SEAL has an opinion. Good for him.

A former SEAL, who wasn't there. Color me unimpressed.

I'm sure they could find one that Credits the president just as much.

Did you guys know that bigtexxx, though strongly in favor of Bush's wars, has refused to enlist in any military organization?

Whew. So glad we have a candidate for POTUS who won't take advantage of political opportunities and appearances! (Give or take most every day.)

Did you not read the article? That was the point. There is not a president who would not have given the order.

And there is not a President who would not take credit for it.

Similarly, there isn't a President out there that would have avoided a $1 trillion deficit in the 2009 and 2010, and yet Republicans still blame Obama for it. That's politics.

So what GOP spin doctor thought up this new line of attack?

First of all everyone knows damn well that Republicans would have politicized this to no end if a Republican president was in charge when Bin Laden was killed.

But then again it probably wouldn't have happened. Has it really been that long since 2008? In the last cycle, Obama was the crazy one that suggested bombing Pakistan and taking unilateral action in the tribal areas. In fact both McCain and Romney called him crazy at the time.

In 2008 John McCain said point blank to Larry King that he wouldn't do exactly what Obama did last year.

And in the case of Romney, he said something similar as well.

This revisionist trash by Republicans is just junk. Everyone from Richard Clarke to Bob Gates showered Obama with praise for taking a very difficult decision. Everything looks easy in hindsight but when you were risking the diplomatic relationship with one of the most important countries in the Muslim world, it looks stupid to say "anyone would have done that." In fact you come off as a tool that has no concept of critical thinking or risk analysis. If this had gone wrong, the entire nation of Pakistan would have been galvanized into a frenzy over a US attack. We're lucky that it worked out but armchair criticism by Republicans is just indefensible.

George Bush did NOTHING to stop Al Qaeda and in fact helped them by starting an unnecessary war and wasting time in Afghanistan with a meager NATO force that was incapable of actually promoting the development of a stable government. And the Republican nominee in 2008, pretty openly chastised Obama for suggesting that the US engage in military operations in Pakistan.

No Republican spinster deserves a shred of credibility on this issue. It is ironic that you are accusing the President of politicizing an issue by politicizing the words of one former navy seal. But hey, whatever you can do to make the president look bad.

    Just pathetic.
