With Houston, you have a particular style, McHale has one way to play and that's the way they're gonna play. You can win a lot of regular season games. The thing is, Patrick Beverley matters most. He introduces an unpredictability factor. On the defensive end, he mixes things up. Watching Lin start vs. Beverley, it's a totally different team. McHale is not someone who will analyze the situation and make changes so you count on the players. Championship contending team? You have to have a great coach who makes adjustments and the Rockets just don't have that.
McHale is more than likely not to be a contender coach. But who do we have lined up? That's why these talks seem silly.

I thought he did alright last playoffs with the zone and small ball but overall you're right... McHale is a terrible coach and there are much better options out there. Would love JVG.
