http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/1...sed-shoplifting-14000-merchandise-apple-store SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Former NBA guard Rex Chapman has been arrested for allegedly shoplifting $14,000 worth of merchandise from an Apple store in Scottsdale and then selling the items at a pawn shop. Police took Chapman, 46, into custody Friday afternoon after officers stopped his vehicle in northeast Scottsdale. They say he's being held on suspicion of nine counts of organized retail theft and five counts of trafficking in stolen property. Police say Chapman made it appear he was using the store's self-checkout but left without paying. He allegedly stole from the store seven times and sold the items for cash. Chapman, a former Kentucky star, was a first-round draft pick of Charlotte in 1988. He also played for Washington, Miami and Phoenix in a 12-year NBA career that ended in 2000. I want to know what Apple Store has self checkout? Even at the Walmarts where they have self checkout you still cant access the expensive electronics.

Sad - I still remember having him on my fantasy team when I first started playing fantasy basketball!
I remember that game like it was yesterday. Unbelievable outputting from Rex Chapman. And what a sad and unfortunate state of events for Mr. Chapman.
Let's wait and see what else comes out. Still, if it is true, what a sad fall. Another former NBA player having serious off the court issues after retirement.
Can not agree more on this. To have a self checkout service in an Apple store is the most ridiculous thing I have even heard. And that's not even in NY or LA? Really?
NBA should have a post-career program for their players to help them adjust to life after their playing years.
Lol. Rex Chapman is the only pro athlete to ever come from Owensboro, Ky where I'm from. We actually went to the same high school, probably ten years apart. You can literally see nothing but cornfields and a few small neighborhoods from the school. Representin'!
Does anyone else remember that shot he made where he chased a loose ball on the sprint away from his basket, leapt out of bounds near half court, snagged it in midair, simultaneously turned in midair to square up, and hit nothing but the bottom of the net?
