First of all this is a post I have always wanted to do, here goes, hope you enjoy it.

In 1994 and 1995, the Rockets beat the Jazz
In 1997 and 1998, the Jazz beat the Rockets

In 1995, the Rockets came back from 2-1 deficit to win series
In 1998, the Jazz came back from 2-1 deficit to win series

In 1994, Dream was the MVP, and the Rockets handled the Jazz
In 1997, Malone was the MVP, and the Jazz handled the Rockets

In 1994 and 1995, Sam Cassell was a good back-up PG who wore #10
In 1997 and 1998, Howard Eisley was a good back-up PG who wore #10

In 1994 and 1995, the Jazz had a crappy white point guard, John Crotty
In 1997 and 1998, the Rockets had a crappy white point guard, Brent Price

In 1994, the Jazz had veteran PG Jay Humphries, UGH!
In 1997, the Rockets had veteran PG Sedale Threatt, UGH!

In 1994 and 1995, Mario Elie was a stud coming off the bench
In 1997 and 1998, Shandon Anderson was a stud coming of the bench

In 1994 and 1995, the Jazz had Tom Chambers, who's presence on the court hurt the Jazz
In 1997 and 1998, the Rockets had Kevin Wiilis, who's presence on the court hurt the Rockets

The Rockets Robert Horry non-trade ended up being best for the Rockets in 94
The Jazz Greg Foster non-trade ended up being best for the Jazz in 98

In 1994 and 1995, Robert Horry hit clutch shots as the starting small forward
In 1997 and 1998, Bryon Russell hit clutch shots as the starting small forward

In 1994 and 1995, Robert Horry teams beat the Jazz
In 1997 and 1998, Robert Horry teams lost to the Jazz

After 1995, the Rockets playoff nemises was the Sonics, a pacific NW team
After 1998, the Jazz playoff nemises was the Blazers, a pacific NW team

There is one difference I would like to point out, however,

In the 1994 and 1995 Finals, The Rockets won!
In the 1997 and 1998 Fianls, The Jazz lost!!!!!!

This took some thinking, hope you liked it

in 1994 and 1995 the rockets didn't have to play the bulls
in 1997 and 1998 the jazz DID have to play the bulls

    failed to mention that one.

Of course in 97 the **** got a huge break with the Malone bearhug on Drexler and in 98 they were flat out beaten until Barkley's injury in Game 4 with the Rockets about to blow them out of the building.

**** would have beaten the bulls if they had a real man like hakeem as opposed to a consistent playoff choker like malone.

Another similarity: Before this year, the Jazz and Rockets were the only two teams with winning records against Michael Jordan.

No the Bulls would have lost that series too, because they could not win with a true center playing against them.
