Then we would have to pay the max for a good but not great player next season.

I think he's worth the max, unlike Parsons and Gordan

None of them can create their own shot, though Kahwi does play defense. The thing is, what Kawhi did last season isn't much different than what Ariza did when he was with the Lakers. He made a lot of open shots during the playoffs, and played great defense.

Gordon might not be worth the max, but he's a very good player. If I were to start a team I'd take him over the other two. Kawhi can't create his own shot.

I think people look to the 2013 draft and assume it was the worst, only because the "star" power wasn't on the face of it obvious. Classic case of a draft where a lot of guys will grow into being very good NBA players, and you can already see its not even close to being the worst draft.

Giannis looks to be a future star.

Dennis Schroder will be a very good NBA starting point guard, possible star.

Gorgui Dieng should be starting, and could be a top 5 rebounding player in the NBA if he can get the starting job permanently.

Nerlens Noel will have a good career even if its just as a defensive specialist.

Rudy Gobert is still developing but looks like he can grow into being a great defensive center.

MCW, Oladipo will have a good career. Olynyk is a good player and should have a good career. I think Trey Burke is meh, but worst case he's a solid backup point guard.

A lot of players are still developing and haven't hit their stride yet but certainly can't write off KCP, Steven Adams, Anthony Bennett, Alex Len, Mason Plumlee, etc.

Hell even Shabazz Muhammed is starting to show some nice promise.

Not out of the realm of possibility that he grows to 7'0" or even 7'1"... If he managed to that and get stronger AND to keep his quickness and mobility AND improve his handles even more... Oh my.

Not a chance I'd take gordan over Kawhi. kawhi is an elite defender and very efficient on offense.

Gordan is....what, exactly? He doesnt do anything very well.

I like Parsons over Gordan too, because Parsons has been known for defense and he shoots better too

How would Kawhi have developed without the Spurs structure? You can't just evaluate his career in a vacuum.

RE: Giannis, he's going to keep getting better and better. He and Jabari should form a pretty scary front court in a few years. If Brandon Knight is for real, then Milwaukee fans have a lot to look forward to.

I picked Giannis to be an all-star because I don't think he will develop the shooting of a superstar, nor the bulk to overwhelm people with pure strength. However, being a good two-way player, with his size, clearly indicates an all-star future.

Maybe he proves me wrong: if he starts hitting outside shots, and can bulk up enough to be a PF, the only thing that will stop him is himself. Kidd had actually put him against Zach Randolph as PF in the crunch time. Gutsy move, but indicative of one of the many mismatches Giannis brings to the table.

I didn't really start watching the NBA until the 2000's. Has there ever been any player like Giannis from a physical perspective? Perry Jones and Austin Daye come to mind, but their length and athleticism isn't near Giannis.

The only caveat is, that when these players do develop, their rookie contracts will be over (Knight too, I think?) and other teams will look awfully tempting to jump to.
