Huh? Why the hell not? Scola, Yao and Hill are exactly the type of big men he needs alongside him.

And LOL at people hating on Dirk. Yeah, hate on the superstar who has no drama issues, doesn't get into trouble, has no ego and isn't a headcase. Sure he whines and flops a lot, but Duncan whines a lot, and our very own Battier and Scola flop like fish as well. I doubt Dirk will want out of Dallas, but if he's available for a reasonable package (like say Scola and our 14th) I say go for it.

would much rather have Dirk than Bosh

Cuban might be dumb enough to want to blow up his team, but he loves Dirk.

As much as I dislike his style of play, I gotta hand it to Dirk. In many moments where it's counted more, he's stepped his game up, made consecutively harder and harder shots, and given us some real entertaining shows in the past against teams like Phoenix, San Antonio, and of course the Heat.

Although he hasn't won anything, he probably gets a bad rap for the failures of his team when in reality he's been operating to his full capacity and then some to try to get them to win. And yes he has had moments of not coming through in the clutch also but who hasn't? I agree, I wouldn't want him or his style of play on the Rockets because I don't think championships lie down the road of deep jumpers (or do they Tracy? sorry, obligatory T-Mac rip) but I think he's a piece like any other superstar.

Yup.. Nowitzki is a gamer. He is a dead eye shooter, and has big time ability. Sure he's not won much in the playoffs, and has had some major disappointments, but the guy can simply play.

Yao and Nowitzki would be awesome together. The tallest center and probably among the tallest Power forward. But Nowitzki can play from outside the paint, which won't conflict with Yao's play close to the basket.

Plus Nowitzki shot those 3 pointers at 42% this past season. For a career he's been hitting them at 38%. Geesh... Imagine Yao passing it out to Nowitzki, I think the only think Nowitzki needs to win is a legit Center.

    Get it done Morey!!!

Cuban would never under any circumstances sign-and-trade Nowitzki to a division rival, so if I was running the show I wouldn't even waste my time talking to Dirk.

Our offense runs through Yao when it goes to the half court, not a jump shooting PF who is old. They have assembled this entire team to compliment that. The prototypical PF for this team is a defensive garbage man and weakside shot blocker, who can be effective without the ball in his hands.

    Dirk is none of that.

My typical Yao hate tells me i would rather have dirk than yao. At 32, he's still a better player than yao.

    no, He's a one trick pony...literally.

A 7 footer that is never aggressive (especially in crunch time) and settles for jump shots.

as much as i hate the mavs, having dirk here would be amazing. plus if we got him, wed have every continent represented on our team, assuming andersen is back. (i still count dream and deke part of the team, so africa is covered.)

cuban would NEVER let it happen though.

This. Cuban routinely starts bidding wars to screw over the Rockets. He'd swallow ground glass before handing us his franchise player.
