This guy gets no where near the credit he deserves.

    From CNN

As if Dave Grohl hadn't already sealed his place in rock 'n roll history, the Foo Fighters' front man made a statement Friday after breaking his leg during a concert and returning to finish the show.

During a Foo Fighters' show Friday night in Gothenburg, Sweden, Grohl injured his leg and then announced to the crowd: "Now look! I think I just broke my leg. I think I really broke my leg,"

Grohl hurt himself after falling off the stage, according to social media posts by people at the concert.

"So, look," Grohl told the audience. "You have my promise, right now, that the Foo Fighters -- we're going to come back -- and finish this show."

Grohl then asked drummer Taylor Hawkins to take over for a while.

"Right now, I'm going to go to the hospital, I'm going to fix my leg, but then I'm going to come back," Grohl said, as captured in a video shared on YouTube by a concertgoer.

Underrated? He's talked about all the time and is very well known.

Exactly. I have to agree with Haymitch, OP: the "most underrated musician of all time" is most probably not alive and is someone we've never known publicly. The person probably wasn't even recorded.

    Just talking statistics here.

But props to Grohl. I like him.

They'll probably trade him for another front man during the draft.

I know, I know. "Of all time" is a stretch, but he's one of those people that is under appreciated. I feel like fifty years from now, his legend will be fully grown.

He's become the Chuck Norris of rock n roll.

Meh, he was sitting down for like half of his music career, a broken leg shouldn't slow him down too much.

I like the Foo Fighters a lot but what does a broken leg have to do with musicianship again? Dave does seem like a cool guy though.

Dave Grohl was best when he was only a drummer. Now he just makes terrible (repetitive) mainstream rock and goes around trying (and failing) to be an expert on rock history. But, hey, he is loaded so will continue to get a platform and will be granted expert status despite having very little insight.

I think he gets all the credit in the world. Not sure how OP arrived at the conclusion Grohl is somehow unappreciated. I disagree completely.

Yeah, I feel like everyone likes Dave Grohl. He seems to have matured as he's gotten older (unlike some rock stars), grateful for his good fortune, appreciates his fans, and generally just seems like a down-to-earth guy.

That being said his music has become pretty derivative mainstream rock (although I do think the Foo Fighter's first album is a forgotten classic).

And of course, he's one of my favorite drummers ever.

According to Wiki, Foo Fighters have received 24 awards from 85 nominations.

And I'm pretty sure that little known band called Nirvana is / was kinda sorta popular too.

    "Underrated" = lol.

The most underrated musician out there is probably someone most of this board isn't familiar with.
[Edit: someone beat me to my captain obvious comment]

By the time someone is so visible that you see them on TV and think "they're underrated", it's, like, a paradox man.
