What woud you do, to bring the real Carl Herrera back?

    No this is not about the poster, it's about Carlos 'Amigo' Herrera [​IMG]

    A key member, yes a KEY member to our 90s success and especially our finals run. Now why is that? He was not the tallest guy, didn't block many shot, was not that athletic, his game was kind of slow, not much of a post-up threat and his stats are nothing to write home about. I guess this is a fair estimate, but his value and strengths were DEFENSE!

    Check the records, especially in 92-93 and 93-94 the guy held many big stars to low numbers and was actually put into the game for strictly defensive purposes. The guy was also tough, he would box out and go for rebounds and just go about his business quietly. The occassional midrange jumper helped us win some games as well.

    Why do I bring this up? With the interview with McHale about the PF spot, D-Mo's bad play in the Fiba tournament, us bringing in Adrien & Dorsey, I was just thinking about what kind of player we need off the bench. While it would help if he can shoot the outside shot, if prefereably D-Mo could just be that defensive presence and rebound (what McHale is looking for), it would go a long way for this team. The potential is there.

    The guy was silky smooth and looks like he's a chef on the side. I would bring him back to cook me an entree' as well.

    He is the reason why I am a rockets fans every since we drafted him back in 92. I was 9 years old back then. I don't live in Venezuela anymore but the last thing I hearded from him is that he was coaching for a local team. Maybe we can bring him back as an assistant for the vipers or something.
