Houston Rockets G Jeremy Lin has agreed to a shoe deal with adidas, thus departing Nike, a league source informed CSNNW.com.

The source spoke on condition of anonymity due to adidas having yet to have made an official announcement on the agreement. According to the source, the announcement will come on Friday.

The signing of Lin only increases adidas’ global brand.

Lin, 25, is averaging 14.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 24 appearances this season.

Lin, an undrafted free agent out of Harvard, came on to the scene after he was waived by the Golden State Warriors and joined the New York Knicks in 2012. After he unexpectedly led the Knicks to a win over the then New Jersey Nets in early February of 2012, and his success continued late into the season, the term "Linsanity" became a globally recognizable phrase.

Lin is currently in the second of his three year contract with the Rockets.

Damian Lilliard, John Wall, and Jrue Holiday are all doing great in them.

Lin is latching onto Dwight's appeal to black fans.

Since Harden is with Nike, maybe James was shoe-hogging?

Crap. There goes any hope of Lin staying healthy for the rest of his career.

Lillard is the only name of real worth in that list and he's only in his second year. Plenty of time for the curse to rear its ugly head. Wall has already gone through injuries and Holiday....well who cares about that guy? Talk about overrated. So is Wall but I'd take him over Holiday any day.

A- Dwight's brand at Adidas doesn't sell worth a damn. Lin going to Adidas is dumb because every Adidas athlete gets ****ed over with injuries (arenas, McGrady, RG III, Reggie bush, D-rose, etc etc lol (no logic here, just superstition)

I find the Adidas crazy light to be too stiff for guard use, so I use Kobe 8 and they are the best shoes I've ever had. I do like Adidas for casuals, I have about 8 pairs of them.
