Is anyone really doubting that Hamas launched from civilian areas? I thought that was already a given.

2 suspects in abduction of Israeli teens killed - Yahoo News

"JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli forces stormed a West Bank hideout early on Tuesday and killed two Palestinians suspected in the fatal abduction of three Israeli teens in June, one of the incidents that ultimately sparked the Gaza war this summer, an Israeli military spokesman said.

The deaths of the two Hamas activists ended one of the largest manhunts conducted by the Israeli security forces."

How anyone can actually defend Hamas is beyond me. Anyone doing this has zero common sense.

I don't know how anyone can defend Hamas. I also don't know how anyone can defend Israel on some of their actions.

"No it doesn't. There'll be one guy left with one eye. Hows the last blind guy gonna take out the eye of the last guy left, who's still got one eye! All that guy has to do is run away and hide behind a bush. Gandhi was wrong, it's just that nobody's got the balls to come right out and say it."

Hamas leader's daughter received medical treatment in Israel
They don't recognize Israel, but use it services, and not Jordan or egypt?

"Hamas is sworn to Israel's destruction but has voiced openness to a long-term truce and a measure of cooperation with Israel which, along with neighboring Egypt, controls access to the coastal enclave, home to 1.8 million Palestinians.

Israeli media has reported that one of Haniyeh's granddaughters was treated in an Israeli hospital last November, while his mother-in-law sought treatment in a Jerusalem hospital in June."

Hasbara can be very rosh katan. Gazans can't freely travel, and they have no working hospitals (any more). If the average Gazan can't get permission to travel to Jordan or Egypt, why would we expect the family of Hamas VIPs?

There's no where else they can go. Considering Zahal bombed their medical facilities and injured them in the first place, you'd have to be pretty feeble minded to read this and think "Gee... how nice of them to let them use an Israeli hospital bed."

It's generally a normal thing to provide medical help to enemy soldiers, much less civilians you injure in a theatre of war. While I'm glad they are civil enough not to deny access to medical care, they aren't exactly winning brownie points with world opinion by patting themselves on the back for it.

I've read about how they helped Syrians near the Golan and I've written and published a (favourable) piece about humanitarian aid the IDF has done in in Haiti. This is hardly the same thing.

Sort of reminds me of the pieces they used to run in the US news about how after slaughtering tens if not hundreds of thousands of civilians in the Iraq War they would occasionally bring over a blind or severely burned Iraqi kid for some free medical work.
