It would be more successful if they fined the refs who get fooled, or better yet, fine some random fan in the stands wearing the player's jersey -- Ginobody jersey sales would drop to nothing in the first week.

For every flop not called, Anthony Davis must pluck 1 unibrow hair from his brow until flops are no longer there or until Davis has 2 eyebrows. whichever comes first. That or dental work.

Every time a flop is noted, David Stern must pay a $1000 fine to a charity.

Forgive my skepticism but I've heard this before.

Good deal. This would be a cautious start which is appropriate.

I like this and I can only hope that the dollar amount escalates for frequent offenders.

I vote for a fine equivalent to 25% of the player's salary for that game. I'd love to see Chris Paul's face when he gets hit with a $54,000 fine for flopping. Hell, it'll be funnier when he loses his whole game salary in the first quarter.

I would like an in-game penalty, so that the players and teams fear the consequences of flopping.

I am all for flagrant foul, ejection, and free throws when it comes to flopping.

In addition, repeat offenders should face multiple game suspensions.

    A fine?

Kevin Martin will be paying the NBA for the privilege to ball next season.

This is GREAT news. Look, it's hard to determine flops in-game, but nothing gets players to start acting smarter during the regular season than hitting their pocket books.

That being said, super stars with loads of money won't care and during the playoffs people will flop again because it will be worth it if you can get a win.

Still, this is a great place to start people. This could lead to further penalties or in-game reviews down the line.
