In case you didn't notice, we are in a Renaissance period for big men. While it is true that the nba is trending toward more 3 point shooting, the truly young elite players are almost exclusively big men.

    Consider:
    Demarcus Cousins
    Rudy Gobert
    Nerlens Noel
    Anthony Davis
    Nikola Vucevic
    Andrew Wiggins
    Derrick Favors
    Joel Embiid
    Jabari Parker
    Julius Randle
    Giannis Antetokounmpo
    Andre Drummonmd
    Mason Plumlee

This is not even mentioning the current bigs: Lebron, KD, Marc Gasol, Greg Monroe, d.howard, noah, melo, al jefferson, pau, aldrigde, timmy, d.jordan, blake, kevin love, etc etc etc.

While you still have some good perimter players, can it even be a question that this league is big again?

What, which rules are you changing, and why should any rule favor anyone instead of just being fair?

Young elite big players? Looks like you forgot DMo the untouchable.

And like LCAhmed said, what rules exactly are you proposing to change? Your big men list seems a little strange with perimeter playing wings on it as well.

Lebron and KD are big men, and not perimeter players? LOL

Weird list aside I would say yes. Change the rules. The modern rules fall somewhere between the old ones and college/international rules making it more difficult for a big man to dominate. I hate college because big men go to waste there offensively. They rely on the PG to get them the ball.

The only rule that could possibly be hindering the big men now (that wasn't in place in the golden age of NBA big-men) is the illegal defense/zone defense rule.

And even then, the truly dominant big-men succeed despite zones (or the teams are good enough to exploit them to their advantage).

There just was a pretty big gap between the talented big men populating the game.... things will come full circle again. They're also still pretty damn impactful on the defensive end.
