The Rockets, and in particular Harden, have become a league wide punchline. Memphis announcers are basically saying that if you punch them in the mouth they will surely fold in the second half. "The Rockets don't even talk or look at each other". They are poking fun at the Rocket defensive effort. Blow it up come trade deadline. This thing has "Lindberghed".
I hardly ever see Harden and Howard talk on the court. You watch the Clippers and Paul and Blake are always communicating. Same with Curry and Klay/Draymond. Everyone talks to each other on the Spurs.
If you blow it up, then you can just get players who fit "Moreyball" so I'm not sure why that would end it. All we need is to get healthy , pick up a veteran big and a reliable shooter, preferably 2 in 1, to make things easier/quicker.
Sadly, I think you're right OP. I think this really will be the end if things don't turn around. On paper its a great idea, however this just isn't a team that is capable of going with the Moreyball approach. Its a great system with a flawed roster.
Some of you need to go somewhere. Go get a beer, read up on the news, get a girlfriend... Do something just not this
Again, Morey is overrated and being exposed big time this season as his baby is falling completely apart among high expectations.
I still don't understand this...great system, but it's the end of it? If it is the roster thats flawed, then it is the roster that would change. Why risk trying a different system that may turn out badly AND you still have to change the roster to fit that new system? Huge risk.
Morey is an analytic geek and a horrible GM. This team has gone nowhere due to his arrogance. Hes gotta stop being an overlord & hire a real coaching staff with a great system like the Warriors. Moreyball is losers basketball
We really have yet to see a team built by Morey that fully fits his own system. I don't understand if he is so smart why he can't adequately build a team that fits his own system. Just a bunch of random players led by two flawed stars with little coaching and hoping it all works out.
