I think that rather than tailoring a defense to the player, that babin was in the wrong situation in houston. The titans way of playing defensive suited babins approach to the game, and he became a beast. The eagles hired the titans defensive line coach Jim Washburn brought him to the eagles.

He couldn't cut it as an outside linebacker, because he's pretty much only good, but damn good, at rushing the qb. Washburn's spread out line favors this. and having one of the best DE's on the other side with a great DT in Jenkins is a big plus also. It was bad coaching to play him as an OLB, but look at Fangio now and the way he's using Aldon Smith.
It isn't like he found success in Philly the first time, or KC, or Seattle. Something changed in Nashville, and now in the wide 9, which I think greatly helps a pass rushing DE, and opposite Trent Cole, he is unstoppable.
