Try Ryan Mathews with the first round pick. I typically play two teams of football per year and I picked 9th out of 10 in both leagues to start this season. Bought into the hype on Mathews in one but picked up Arian Foster in both leagues as well.

Just dropped Mathews for Jacob Tamme (an automatic start every week)...always sucks to drop your first round pick though.

In one of my leagues, I took Randy Moss in the 2nd round, Kevin Kolb in the 4th, and Sims-Walker in the 6th. It's a very QB heavy league (2 starters on each team, pts for completions), and I thought Kolb would be throwing the hell out of the ball in Philly. Then I failed to pick up Vick when he went down, so I was starting Shaun Hill or David Garrard for a few weeks next to Aaron Rodgers, and finally traded for Eli Manning.

Luckily I nabbed Malcolm Floyd, LT, and Santana Moss late to cover my gaffs. I'm in a 4 way tie for 3rd right now ... not many leagues that you can get almost nothing from your top 2 WR picks and still compete, not to mention I had J.Finley at TE too.

In the Clutchfans PPR league I had to do autopick and faired pretty well with no major busts, yet I'm 3-5 and have more points than the leader.

I'm in a 10 team PPR league and wiffed on not picking up Arian Foster. I think he went in the 12th and final round in my league.

We have this weird system that was just implemented the year I started (this year). It's a keeper league but you CAN'T keep the top 3 players of your league, therefore if someone picked Foster with the 12th pick they'd give up a 10th or 11th round pick for him this draft.

I picked up Brandon Lloyd a, life saver, and if I keep him this year he will be worth a 12th round pick.

This year I would say giving up a 4th round pick for Ryan Grant would constitute as my bust pick.

I'm at 5-3 flipping this other guys team of scrubs to what I have now.

    1. (9) Shonn Greene
    2. (16) Calvin Johnson
    3. (33) Beanie Wells
    4. (40) Jonathan Stewart
    5. (57) Chad Ochocinco
    6. (64) Brett Favre
    7. (82) Owen Daniels

    8. (89) Pittsburgh Defense
    9. (106) Rob Bironas
    10. (113) Reggie Bush
    11. (130) Dez Bryant
    12. (137) Steve Slaton
    13. (154) Vince Young

    14. (161) Marcedes Lewis

    Using DonnyMost's color scheme

My team was autodrafted...sigh I was the only one autodrafting in a 12 team league.

Lewis has been a breakout but I didnt play him in week one and the next two weeks he didnt score as well and so I dropped him..my biggest mistake to date.

Bush wasnt great the first 2 weeks but considering his injury I cant really declare him a bust and same with Bironas even though he has been good I probably could have gotten a kicker later on.

Wells was a bust but he can change to a decent fantasy player after two straight weeks of double digits but considering Greg Jennings, Philip Rivers, LeSean McCoy, Matt Forte, Antonio Gates, DeSean Jackson were all still on the board when Wells was picked...yeah he is still a bust in my eyes.

I've traded Wells and Calvin Johnson since then currently my team sits

Vick, Knox, Garcon, Mike Turner, Fred Jackson, Dez Bryant, Ochocinco, Pitt D, Shonn Greene, Ben Watson, Brandon Pettigrew,Kenny Britt, Lindell (for this week) and I picked up Seyi Arijotutu (whatever his name is since he is starting at WR this week against Hou)

I've somehow gotten lucky and I am sitting in second place this week

Busts in blue, steals in red. (IMO)

    Team 1 (5-3):

    11 DeAngelo Williams, Car RB
    14 Ryan Grant*, GB RB
    35 Dallas Clark*, Ind TE

    38 Arian Foster, Hou RB
    59 Mike Sims-Walker, Jac WR
    62 Hines Ward, Pit WR
    83 Kevin Kolb, Phi QB
    86 Fred Jackson, Buf RB
    107 Lee Evans, Buf WR
    110 Jacoby Jones, Hou WR
    131 Michael Bush, Oak RB
    134 Bengals D/ST, Cin D/ST
    155 Kenny Britt*, Ten WR
    158 Darrius Heyward-Bey, Oak WR
    179 Derek Anderson, Ari QB
    182 Neil Rackers, Hou K

    Team 2 (3-5):

    12 Miles Austin, Dal WR
    13 Jamaal Charles, KC RB
    36 Matt Schaub, Hou QB
    37 Arian Foster, Hou RB
    60 Vernon Davis, SF TE
    61 C.J. Spiller, Buf RB
    84 Mike Wallace, Pit WR
    85 Reggie Bush, NO RB
    108 Chester Taylor, Chi RB
    109 Visanthe Shiancoe, Min TE
    132 Jacoby Jones, Hou WR
    133 Vince Young, Ten QB
    156 Neil Rackers, Hou K
    157 Texans D/ST, Hou D/ST
    180 Jason Snelling, Atl RB

Not many steals. Most steals were on waivers (as usual). Team 1 has suffered massively from season-ending injuries are benchings yet somehow has a superior record.

    Waiver saviors:

    Team 1:

    Brandon Lloyd
    Davone Bess

    Team 2:

    BenJarvus Green-Ellis
    Pierre Garcon (soon)
    Giants D/ST
    Jacob Tamme (soon)

Obviously, Arian Foster is my overall hero.

I just got offered Peyton Hillis and Jamal Charles for Arian Foster. I have to accept that, right? After Foster, I'm weak at RB with the likes of P. Thomas, Torain, Benson, and F. Jackson.

I'm 3-5 (most pts. against) so shaking things up might be a good thing here.

added: ...maybe not, I think Benson should put up the same numbers as Charles or better and Foster>>>Hillis. Maybe I can sell extremely high on #1 fantasy player Foster. ...ok, just read replies...I'm second guessing too much. Hard to trade Foster, but yeah, I'm hitting accept.

I would do it simply because Jamaal Charles will lead the NFL in rushing this year.

Benson, Jackson, and Torain aren't bad #2s though.

    8 Larry Fitzgerald, Ari WR
    17 Shonn Greene, NYJ RB
    32 Philip Rivers, SD QB
41 Sidney Rice*, Min WR (epic fail #1)
    56 Dwayne Bowe, KC WR
    65 Tony Gonzalez, Atl TE
    80 Mike Wallace, Pit WR
    89 Owen Daniels, Hou TE
    104 Darren Sproles, SD RB
    113 Matt Ryan, Atl QB
128 Montario Hardesty*, Cle RB (epic fail #2)
    137 Bengals D/ST, Cin D/ST
    152 Robbie Gould, Chi K

This is why I hate autodraft

And in week 1, I traded away Philip Rivers for Kevin Kolb and Jerome Harrison (epic fail #3)

Luckily I picked up Peyton Hillis, Green-Ellis, and some other guys from WW and now I'm sitting at 7-1

I'll say picking Larry Fitz first was your first epic fail #1 ;)

I don't consider injuries as busts, because that happens.

Yeah, I had Ryan Grant too. I try to be cute and select high impact rookies. I did pretty good with that last when I selected Percy Harvin, and Hakeem Nicks. he didn't pick up until the end of the year.

    But Ryan Matthews. Damn.

    Busts for me....

Marion Barber, Brandon Jacobs, Visanthe Shiancoe

Luckily picking up Mike Vick and trading him immediately netted me both Jamaal Charles and Peyton Hillis

Any list that doesn't include Maurice Jones-Drew is an epic fail.
