So apparently Yi has been busy getting jacked this season:

    Yi right now:

Just looking at him you can tell he is more muscular than he was last year, but to really emphasize it, here is a picture of Yi last year:

he can bulk up all he wants.. but he needs to stop shooting 3's and actually develop a inside game.. So far he hasnt shown he has it mentally

This. I think that bulking up and getting a stronger body will help, but I watched him on the Bucks and the Nets and his greatest issue is mentality. He has good size, length, and a nice touch. Bulking up won't help if he doesn't correct his "settle for jump shots and don't box out on D" stuff.

He has to toughen up. He needs a consistent inside game. A go to low post move that would complement his perimeter game. On defense, He has to have the mentality of a "rebounder". Go for the ball every time the other team misses.

Maybe becoming more muscular will give him confidence and then make him tougher.

How much heavier is he, now? The pose he has in the more recent pic would show off his muscles more.

He should use the time he spends working on his body on his game. btw, that pic looks photoshopped.

The 1st pic isn't loading for me, how much bigger does he look? 10-15 lbs?

I'm a fan of Yi, mainly because he has so many haters though....haha

I agree, I think the added muscle/weight will give him confidence so that he can go inside and fight for rebounds. It should help him and it will be interesting see how much better he plays this season.

He should work on his inside game. Develop a low post move to complement his outside game. Developing a mean attitude would help too.

Of course he can't. As people mentioned earlier, it is about his mentality. He falls in love with long range shots so quickly and he isn't realy a shooter. He needs to develop his inside game.

But really, he looks amazing for me.

I remember his first few weeks in the NBA when people were claiming he was way better than Scola.

At least he is working to improve his game. A 7" that is agile and can shoot will always have a spot in the NBA. But man... he is beef up. Hope its not steroids.
