Check this out.... ESPN ROY For some odd reason ESPN decided to move Amare ahead of Yao in the ROY rankings, BUT if you look at their stats Yao is leading Amare in most categories overall AND for the past three games! Oh btw, didn't Yao get ROM for December...bc for some reason they claim Jay Williams received it (or do they award it to a player in each conference)? In any case they didn't even mention that for Yao.
Yao should move up next week after the game last night. Also Amare had a horrible game against Utah last night which should help Ming's case. All Ming needs to do is to have average, or slightly better than average game against Hawks and Nuggest to reclaim the top spot, unless of course Amare has monster games the rest of the week.
That was for last week, and I think Amare had it the week before too. he strung together some monster games and deserves it (at least based on stats). This week is different, so you can expect to see Yao's name back on top come next Tuesday.
I think they have a Rookie of the month winner for the East and one for the West. But, don't even worry about it. Yao will win the ROY.
