Letting Dragic go was a dumb move then and looks even more stupid now with Dragic wanting to stick it to us and not come back. Can you blame him? All over a stupid player option? If you let him go knowing you can get a better PG, that's one thing. It's another to go for the worse PG in Lin, which was basically a greedy move since Leslie wanted the dollars that came with Linsanity and the Asian fanbase.

Has nothing to do with Leslie's decision to not bring back Dragic. The PG turnover is already tough to swallow since we've had great ones, only to be traded away due to competition and both being too good to be back-up for long. Also how much does Leslie have to do with us getting Harden, seriously? A few million invested over the years is nothing.

Dragic wanted a player option and Morey didn't want to give him that. Move on ...

Because everyone saw the Harden trade coming and that he'd become an MVP level player.

Where are the facts that say otherwise?
If it's true that Goran is bitter about what happened before then that just makes him look spiteful.

False. Dragic contract with the Suns was signed for a 8.5 million average. Guess what his replacement made? That's right, around 8.5 million (a little less).

    Lol whatever

Good riddance. I don't want that little b*tch on this team for the max if he actually screwed the suns and his own chance at a ring to stick it to an executive that was doing his job.

Moreover, he is only looking at teams in nice cities with cap space that are not close to winning. Him bosh and Melo can enjoy their money while they watch us go for rings with or without him.

You're a moron too if you think les, a billionaire business man, thought signing lin would make him more money than winning a championship with Dragic. Those were not the scenarios in front of them. Because this is real life, not nba2k. He *****ed himself yes, but they are making the best decisions they can with the information they have.

We are the 3rd seed in the west with our second best player out most of the year and a lottery pick plus young players plus expiring contracts available to upgrade the roster. Oh and we have the MVP. James mother*****ing Harden.

Show some appreciation for the guy paying a hair under the luxury tax to make us hold our heads high among NBA fans. People like you are an embarrassment to the fan base, even worse than the homers that blindly worship the Rockets team and front office.

I actually agree with the OP to a certain extent, although I wouldn't pin the blame on Leslie Alexander but rather the whole front office. I don't think that if Morey and co. insisted that keeping Dragic instead of going for Lin was best for the team, Leslie would override him.

So, that was just plain a misstep, and since it really had no effect on getting Harden, I don't think you can call it anything but a mistake in hindsight.

That said, it's more of an item to put on the "negatives" list about the front office than it is some dramatic thing where it's like "WOW THEY F***ED US". And let's face it, the positives list FAR outweighs the negatives one.

Fair enough, my original statement was kind of emotional but that sounds reasonable. The bolded part is essential, since I'm not trying to say Morey should be blamed, let go, is not doing his job or the negatives outway the positive moves made.

I do disagree a bit with Leslie overriding Morey, I do think he's the kind of guy to do that. It was probably not black and white, but more along the lines of Morey informing Leslie about the contract Dragic wanted. Then Leslie probably brought up Lin as an alternative, cannot see how Morey would've wanted him, who could maybe blossom again (as well as the $$$$ it would bring Leslie).

    Thats right!

If only we had a good owner like James Dolan. When you look at how well Jim Buss has done with all the inherent weaknesses that his franchise is saddled with what with the small market size and poor track record, you can't help but wonder how well he could do with an all time great team like the Rockets?

I wonder if we can arrange to get special dispensation to bring Donald Sterling out of his glorious retirement to save our doomed franchise?
