I know this is something everyone has a knowledge of, but do they really understand the dynamic of that friendship. Parsons and Lin were best friends, Parsons allowed Lin to stay with him for quite some time until he got accustomed to the NBA life. When the Rockets got Lin back, the general consensus was it was a solid piece added to the team with the hopes that Lin could have some elements of Linsanity here in Houston. That did not happen, in which Lin actually became a more polished player. He flew under radar, and people including the media were not satisfied with the transformation.

When Morey traded Lin to the Lakers, Parsons perhaps felt that Morey did not value Lin and his improvement. Parsons receives an offer from Cuban worth $46 mil, and Morey was on the hot seat in proving his loyalty to the 3rd piece of that trio. Morey states that Parsons was not worth that money, so he let's Parsons walk. He then signs Ariza to a 4-year $32 mil contract. Now common sense tells us, that Ariza is not really worth that deal, and it contradicts Morey's statements about Parsons. But of course, a domino effect may have been the reason for all the moves, right? Trying to get a 3rd superstar may have caused all these changes. Yet, if Carmello was not really showing signs of coming here, and LeBron was returning to Cleveland, is Bosh the piece that Morey settle for? Of course, yet Bosh stated that if LeBron stayed he would stay. Morey was aware of this hypothetical commitment, so why would he put all his eggs in one basket? This was not really an irrational move I think, it was more of a reactionary move due to internal issues with fans complaining about Lin's lack of Linsanity. He let Lin go, then Parsons was in question next due to integrity issues. Cuban offers a deal to Parsons, and Morey felt conflicted in either paying him or letting him go due to the offer not really being the best decision for the team as a whole. The team was broken up due to fans...not Morey wanting to make blockbuster moves.
