The original UK version of The Office is amazing! But it's probably better to watch at 100%. The American version is fine while also doing something else.
I think comedy shows I'm already familiar with are the ideal shows to put on in the background. So stuff like Workaholics, The League, Always Sunny, The Office, Arrested Development, Parks and Rec, and of course, NewsRadio, are my picks. Old school Threes Company too.
All of these plus the League, Friends and 30 Rock. I've seen each episode of most listed (The League, Friends, Workaholics and IASIP) multiple times so it's just nice to have in the background when I shut my office door. Also enjoy putting on anything Anthony Bourdain, just because the dude is boss and make excellent shows.
When working at home late in the evening, I usually turn on SyFy and watch whatever cheesy movie is on.
You should try whistling instead, makes the workplace so much more pleasant and soothing. I have a female co-worker that does this when we work together and all I can say is I am a happy camper when she does. Way better than tv.
Love watching this at work. There are some somewhat NSFW scenes throughout the show, but they're pretty quick. If you work in a cubicle, you should fine.
I sometimes put Bourdain on as an exception to the rule as I'm a big fan too. But the problem is I end up paying too much attention and stop working. I forgot, IT Crowd has been getting heavy rotation lately. I'm tempted to put on Californication or Entourage to add little T&A in the background.
