Houston (IAH) to NYC. Should I fly Delta or United?

I'm not sure how long this has been going on for, but I recall only United doing service to NYC (Newark specifically) from IAH. Now I see Delta does IAH to LAG (La Guardia). Bag costs are the same and airfare is exactly the same price

Has anyone flown Delta before? It can't get much worse than United right? I'm leaning toward Delta because of WIFI being available on all their planes but I am used to United and while they're terrible with customer service, I typically don't experience many issues plus they have DirecTV on most of their flights. (I get bored as ****)

Fly united, that way you get a head start on dealing with people with North East type hospitality. And when you get to NY, you will feel right at home.

Doesn't really matter. I just figured since most of the flights I fly are via United since I fly out of IAH, the fact that I have a choice on a different airline this time is just weird to me and wanted to see if I should just keep doing United, or try out Delta since the bag fee's and ticket prices are exactly the same for the date I have chosen.

I live within 25 minutes of IAH. Hobby isn't an option. I've heard good things of JetBlue though.

No damn difference, but really why does it matter? Fly whichever. Both aren't bad. At the end of the day they're both going to NY

Ah yeah thats true. Forgot about it only being at Hobby. I'd say Delta then. I've flown with them only once though, but I didn't have any issues.

I don't know. Maybe some of you travelers have some tips or horror stories with Delta. (I'm aware of United horror stories) Even the legroom is the exact same in economy for the plane lol.

Boeing 737-800 on the United and Embraer RJ-170 for the Delta flight.

If you're not in a rush and flying on your own dime (and interested in saving a few bucks), fly United to EWR. Although LGA is closer to Manhattan, you pretty much have to take a taxi from LGA to the city. When flying to EWR, you can pay ~$10 to take the Airtrain from EWR directly to Penn Station in Manhattan (and connect from Penn Station to the subway to get wherever you need to go).

Isn't there a bus from LGA to the subway? and from there you can take the subway to the city.

There is, and I was going to mention it, but I hate buses, and avoid them at all costs while in NYC.
