Trending on reddit, interwebz, etc. Video does not actually show him getting shot btw, but captures moments just before.

Just like the accident that killed a little boy a few years ago. Parents of the year.

You know that saying, "guns don't kill people. People do"? It applies in these cases.

Sad story for his family and the girl, she is going to be dealing with a lot for the rest of her life. That being said, why is a 9 year old being given a fully loaded and automatic Uzi?

I dunno how comfortable she will be around guns now.
She will be the only person in her class responsible for killing someone

I think this may scar her more than anything else
If this was to make her comfortable with guns . . . i suspect this may do the extreme opposite
    but
    on never knows

I pray for all involved because it was just a bad bad accident

I saw on the morning news they had instruction from 8 yrs old up
so . . . I will assume that this guy had done this before
Proprietor said this is the 1st in his 40 yrs of business

I'm no proGun nut but . . .. . this was an accident
    To some . .. it was foreseeable but if this is a 1st in 40 yrs. . . .
I think they judged the possibility as small.

The numbers finally caught up with this accident.

The only thing I can do is shake my head at the situation. She is lucky that she didn't accidentally hit herself also. What a bunch of irresponsible adults that allowed this to happen.

You got to get them when they are young. If cigarette companies could market to 9 year olds you can be sure they will do it.

While I have no problem with kids using guns, there are definitely reasonable approaches to using them. My parents grew up on a farm so they used guns at a young age and I used guns at a young age -- small caliber rifles. That being said, I never fired a handgun until I was 18, and never an assault weapon until I was 16(M16, didn't use full auto). These parents are idiots and the instructor himself should have known better.

It's called normalizing risk. Another word might be "drift." Hey, nothing happens when I let adults fire off a few rounds, let's move on to teenagers and then younger kids and hey, here's a 9 year old girl with the upper body strength of oh, I don't know... a 9 year old girl. On top of that, I'll let her fire a single round and then go to auto. She's probably used to the kick after that one shot, right? What could go wrong?

Parents of the year taking the video. Geez. Whatever happened to starting kids out on pellet guns or a bolt action .22?

I'm going to chalk up the reason there's only been one death in 40 year to the fact that most adult parents aren't dumb enough to let a pre teen handle a weapon that most adult gun owners know is very hard to handle.

    Daisy Red Rider -> pellet gun -> single shot .22 short & single shot 410 -> .222 or .243 deer rifle & 20-gauge -> bigger stuff
