I'm concerned about Durant's long term health now. I think this guy is on the path to become a top ten player of all time but if this injury becomes a chronic thing it can derail his career from that path. That would be tragic.

Is that accurate? I thought it was much lower percentage chance that athletes experienced a full recovery after the screw insert. Awhile back someone posted a chart of athletes that have dealt with Jones fractures. If I recall correctly the chances of a second surgery was closer to 30 to 40%. Maybe Durant had a different procedure or something.

And Durant's career at this point is a coin toss. Also for the Thunder to say they are looking out for his long term health now is strange. This is the only option left on the table.

You guys needs to calm down its not like he wish death on KD and his family, it's just a basketball injury.

It's sad in basketball terms only and it's a game that KD has made millions upon millions that we can only dream of and even if he never plays again he will live a pretty comfortable life with what he has made.

The Durantula, unlike other some other spiders, cannot replace damaged legs.

Get well soon KD, the NBA will not be the same without you. I hope for a full recovery. As a basketball fan I want my team to beat the best version of every team with every star player.

And i hope he recovers 100% and comes to play with Harden.

I'm not so sure about that - Bill Walton, Bernard King, Aryvdas Sabonis, Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway, and our own Ralph Sampson.

I think the Suns have one of the best training staffs in sports. Very few teams have tried to imitate them.

After Dwight, Tmac, Yao, not too interested in going after another injury prone player.

What's strange is KD has been extremely healthy prior to all this. This is very shocking what has happened to him this year. Really sad news.

And yet none of those guys had an injury history before they came here.

Maybe its time to turn the table.

Damn, just read he was having surgery again which of course makes me think instantly of Yao... I really hope this isn't the beginning of the end for Durant.

Better reduce the games (and the wear and tear), mandate rest time in the summer, then have the guys get different kinds of procedures (esp. experimental) after they get injured.

Prevention of injuries, correcting physical imbalances--the NBA has to start thinking of this.
