The 20th pick for Dallas won't do us any good. Their pick is top 20 protected. For the Rockets to get the Dallas pick, the Mavs would have to move down to #21.
Right now we sit with HOU pick at #13 & NY pick #17! There's a better chance of moving 17 to 15 than 13 to 12. MIL final games are against TOR, PHI, BOS We could possibly get NY pick at #15 if: NY loses 1 of their final 2 against LAC, CHA PHI wins out against NJ, MIL, DET UTAH wins out against PHO, POR So 2 picks at #13 & #15 would be great! For me, there's still something worth watching. Draft night hopefully starts a change & gives this team a direction!
There's still a possibility. Just like the possibility that the Rockets would miss the playoffs even though we had a 94% chance to make it at one point.

Utah beat Phoenix, so on 4/25/2012, the Rockets and Sun are tied for the 13th pick. Each team has one game to go. Are you hoping to lose to NOH to maintain chance @ 13?
We lose the tiebreaker to the Suns for the playoff spot. If it's the same one that they use for draft position then we only have to be tied with them to get the higher pick. Anyone know how they break draft ties? Thanks.
Without a doubt yes... but I can't see it happening. New Orleans, as a franchise, has a great incentive to lose this one. They are in a 3-way tie at 21 wins for the 3rd worst record in the league... and there are two teams with 22 wins. A win could potentially drop them from 3rd to 7th.
Thanks. After posting I went back in the thread and saw it there also. Another thing to ponder is if the knicks finish tied with someone who would represent at the tiebreaking drawing/flip, us or the knicks.
Damnit, now we have one win too many to get a better pick!! I can just see the Suns picking the better player right in front of us again
...except that the Hornets have won seven of their past ten games. Apparently the team didn't get the tank commander memo. I wouldn't be at all surprised if both teams go at it hammer and tongs despite what it might cost their respective organizations, draft lottery-wise.
Theoretically according the lottery we could still win the lottery and end up with the top 3 pick even if we end up with the 14th pick. Stranger things have happened. Like if potentially the lottery is not rigged? That could happen.
Well, we also have an incentive to lose, so let's call this important game: The Suckraoo Bowl, let the worst team win!
Clutch, you need to call JVG and see if he will volunteer to be the Hornets' special guest coach for the last game. He owes us some karma for that Denver win in 2006 that cost us Brandon Roy.
