"Hey Minnesota! Give us your Top 10 player for the right to pay Klay Thompson the max! Oh don't worry we'll give you David Lee's horrid contract as well. Deal?"

    Dominos.

Parsons get the max, suddenly, a host of players feel entitled as well.

2014 may well be the year with the most over payed max players for a long while.

Hayward started it all. He's going to be the worst contract in the NBA pretty soon. He's a slightly above average player and is the 3rd best player on a lottery team.

Yes. Hayward's contract preceded Parsons. Same effect though.

Who's better than him on the jazz? Exum looked good in SL but hasn't played a game yet, Burke was solid but didn't look great playing next to Exum. Kanter is a waste of space. Gobert may be better, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Seems weird that you don't hear Curry asking for a max contract.

I would say parsons is better than thompson:

    Code:
    Rk Player Season Age G MP PER TS% eFG% FTr 3PAr ORB% DRB% TRB% AST% STL% BLK% TOV% USG% ORtg DRtg OWS DWS WS WS/48
    1 Chandler Parsons 2013-14 25 74 2783 15.9 .565 .538 .224 .356 2.9 12.8 8.2 17.3 1.6 0.8 11.7 19.3 114 108 5.1 2.5 7.6 .131
    2 Klay Thompson 2013-14 23 81 2868 14.3 .555 .533 .147 .425 1.5 7.9 4.7 10.2 1.3 1.0 9.2 22.6 108 106 3.5 3.2 6.7 .112

Given all the max contracts that are being given out I don't think parsons is really overpaid.

Good lord, they're gonna have to raise the cap and lower the tax! They're should only be a handful of players getting max money. And it should be a requirement to make an all star game before you can get a max contract!

Well, to be fair, Klay is just operating under the assumption that he's a franchise player. Since Golden State is unwilling to trade him, he feels entitled to that opinion. Now whether he actually deserves it is a completely different story......

Cuban's pissing contest with Morey is going to cost the NBA owners. That contract is going to be mimicked quite a bit now in free agency with players alike. Overpaid short term is going to be the new norm.

Parsons and Hayward started the nonsense. Parsons offended by Morey should be Morey offended by Parsons wink agreement to come back at a fair price not an outrageous price and contract.

He isn't a max player but someone is going to give him max money.

I just don't understand why GSW won't include him in a Love trade. Love is 10x the player Klay is ever going to be and the Warriors would be actual contenders. Does Love not want to be Golden State long term?

If the deal is like Thompson/Barnes/Lee for Love/Martin then GSW should pull that deal now!

Curry - Martin - Iggy - Love - Bogut is a very good lineup.

Very interesting it would be unwise to pay him that much, instead make that Love trade.
