Agreed. Dmo is special and a good player. And hopefully an all star someday. But not today.

Dmo again was missed tonight. Huge reason we were able to hold it down last season when D12 was out with injury. Get well soon big guy. This team needs you badly right now.

We lack another creator, our whole game was awful and Lawson looked pretty bad. Beverley outplayed him & is in better shape, we missed DMo heavily in this game. Maybe once Dwight comes back it would change a bit.

Come back big guy. You helped cover a lot of this team deficiencies last season while Howard was out.

Yes. The rockets got out rebounded last night by 15 and gave up 20 offensive rebounds, they for sure need DMOs outstanding rebounding to cover up that huge deficiency.

Dom will at least box out his man for someone else to grab it and is tall enough for it to be effective.

The boxing out excuse and hoping and praying your teammate and not the opposing team will grab the rebound is just ridiculous. You grab the rebound just like a Tim Duncan or a Dwight Howard would do.

Dmo isn't a high or quick jumper and have a pretty small wingspan for his size. He just won't be a good rebounder, but he can at least box out so that another teammate gets it rather than it being an offensive rebound.

He also consistently gave you points. Wouldn't have been in position to lose. Do some homework.

boxing out is not an excuse, it's a fundamental aspect of team rebounding. i saw larkin getting rebounds in amongst the trees last night because dwight was sufficiently boxed out.

QFT. This aspect might be a bit nuanced for some on here to understand.

"like a Dwight Howard would"? Did you not see the many offensive rebounds they got while Dwight was on the floor yesterday because they boxed him out and gang rebounded?

I don't know where you can see stats broken up like that but quickly glancing at the play by play I counted 8 offensive rebounds in the 18 mins that I am sure Howard was playing (first 6 mins of Q1 and the entire Q4). (Obviously he played more in Q2/Q3 but I don't know how to easily retrieve those stats).

So using those 18 mins with Howard on the floor, the Nets were on pace for 21 offensive rebounds over the course of a game (48 mins). The Nets actually got 20 last night, which means the team was just as bad as securing defensive rebounds with Howard on the floor as Capela, if not worse.

I understand Howard got 17 rebounds. But the key is how good the team rebounds with each of them on the floor. It doesn't actually matter who is actually getting the rebound.

Exactly. You guys coming here like Snow posting and begging for DMO to come back thinking he's going to fix all of deficiencies for this extremely talented (Harden, Howard and Lawson) and deep team are smoking something. This teams current chemistry is completely and totally off at the moment and the coaching is subpar IMO. They've got the current talent without the mercurial DMO to have only lost one or two games with who they have played so far. Would they be better with DMO playing at the moment, absolutely. But implementing a top PG like Lawson and going through a fragmented injury riddled preseason is something DMO can't fix. DMO can't get back soon enough IMO, but he's not going to fix a 15 rebound deficit like last night.
