He made some quality movies, nightmare fuel in my childhood Elm Street Last House on the Left Serpent and the Rainbow Swamp Thing Hills Have Eyes

Nightmare on Elm Street was the first horror movie I watched, the Scream series got me into horror genre when I was in high school hasn't released anything good recently but highly respected him as a filmmaker, will be missed
RIP Wes, a true mastermind of the horror genre. So many awesome films. For my money, as far as slashers go, you can't get much better than the original Scream.
