lil homie has an important CBA season coming up. He needs to dominate over there like Yao and Yi did.

i got a kick out of watching him on KD. Similar builds lol. Chinese KD will be a force in the future.

A 19 year old 2nd rounder. Oh surely he can contribute right away...;)
Some of our first rounders couldn't do jack in rookie season: Dekker
And we certainly don't have high hopes for him this season either...

Big difference in leg development. Yao's legs were proportionate to his size so it was mainly about gaining the upper body strength. Zhou has a ways to go but still young.

Nobody will be Yao for a long time, you do not have to be a genius to foresee that.

No doubt abou that but he doesn't get compared to Yao. He gets compared to dirk. I don't see that happening but I will be extremely happy if he becomes an Erson Ilyosova.

Yi has some chicken extremities and hopefully in the future he can contribute to the team. worst case scenario Les will still be making money off of Chinese endorsements

I don't think anyone is saying he's the next Yao. But at 7'2, it's just silly to write him off as a bust already. Give him a couple years to bulk up and condition, then let's see if he can hang.

    A bust?

    LOL

You can only call a player a bust when he at least will play a game in the NBA.

Zhou Qi will be just another Chukwudiebere Maduabum.

Speak for yourself. I think Dekker is going to ball this season.

I see his potential NBA niche as center. He has elite length, reach, at Whiteside, Gobert level. His center of gravity is to high to follow modern PFs. But he can potentially be a nightmare protecting the rim cause he is enough mobile, very tall and extrenely long.

Yes, he seems right now extremelly weak to bang with centers, but same looked Gobert, Porzingis, even Yao at 18... He will work his body and always will have the size advantage over rivals. Also must be considered that the classic powerful center seems to be less and less relevant in todays game. Teams are tending to put the Capelas, Horfords, Noels at the position. Back to the basket centers seem like endangered species.

Nope , the game has change too much for a big man to dominate , everything is guard / perimeter oriented.

The days of the great big men are over and done with ....

The China PG, Guo, is surprising me.

He's breaking the USA press, penetrating off the dribble, throwing some nice passes, good effort on D.

Shot looks kinda weird, bad FT shooter? Looks out of control sometimes.
