I call BS on that one. Either DMo is talking out his butt or the reporter is misquoting DMo. Parsons salary has nothing to do with the Rockets, and I doubt Houston called Harden or vice versa to make a statement about the dollar figure.

Actually, Parsons's offer sheet was for slightly below the max. Harden will make slightly more than Parsons in each of the next three seasons.

    Slightly.

Tolerate these nuts. A players pay shouldn't influence what he does on the court

My take: When foreign players get interviewed by home country media, "interesting" comments come out. It's a "translation" issue, not just in language, but also in terms of culture.

Sometimes the comment comes out in a misleading way; sometimes in a more honest way.

Oh definitely. It could also be DMo stirring the pot to force a trade?

So, here's the full interview, Google-translated:

Gotta love Google translation. The whole thing sounds so weird. Lol.

according to basketball reference, Harden is getting paid about 28,000 more than Parsons next year.

I'm not buying it. DMo can be very frank sometimes, but lately he has shown maturity in his interviews. For example, during LVSL a reporter asked him if he expects to have the backup 5 spot now that Asik is gone. He basically emphasized that he expects nothing and only focuses on improving his game and show up when his number is called.

I 2nd what pizza said. In this situation though, everything has been turned on its head. In this off season, with the trades made, players have been "stirred", if you will

    So far...
-Lin offended his number got used to recruit Melo while he's still on the team.
-CFers offended that Lin, a mere role player, is offended in the process.
-Parsons offended Houston didn't think he was the third star.
-Rockets offended about how Parsons went out and signed the most untradeable non-no-trade-claused contract ever.
-Bev offended that he didn't get chosen for USA select team.
    -Jews offended by Howard's tweet.
-Bev offended by George Karl's comment about Houston looking for PG.
-NBA fans offended by how Harden called his teammates role players.
-Harden offended that Parsons would be paid more if Houston matched offer from Mavs.
-CFers offended by Disgusted by JLin Trade thread.
-Tinman offended that people would think he (not a mere CFer, but a 99er) would get a troll account on LG.

    Anything I missed?

What about Rocket's fans being offended that Bosh pulled out at the 11th hour?

Pretty sure whatever he actually said got lost in translation. D-mo doesn't seem the type to stir the pot. And quotes like these always happen when international players get interviewed by their home country's media. There's probably a Lithuanian or two lurking the board. Maybe they can clarify what was actually said and the context.
