How is holmes incorrect? Even if he is wrong, how are non rocket fans supposed to know that some said stuff is sarcasm?
This. for those of you who clearly failed reading comprehension, i'm talking about how the LEAGUE and others see us. Not my personal opinion. Of course as rocket fans we aren't going to see that way. But it's clear from reading comments when houston is brought up now, we have an entirely different view to other teams and how they see us. we're just the only ones who take the time to find out the truth.
So because fans of other teams fail to correctly inform themselves about our team, we should be upset? The only thing that matters to us is the Rockets team. As long as the team knows there isn't all this turmoil the media is trying to drum up, it shouldn't ****ing matter to any Rockets' fans. I could give two ****s about the public opinion of our team. It doesn't affect what they do on the court. Clearly the media has smelt blood in the water regarding the Rockets, so they are running with every story they possibly can right now. By the time the season begins, all of this will be an afterthought.
New article at the Chron about the Scoop Jackson interview from the original post. http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2014/08/the-useful-mind-games-of-james-harden-the-best-all-around-basketball-player-in-the-nba/#26027101=0&26154103=0 Here is a short quote: "So it turns out, the Rockets have no reason to worry. Never did. They might not have gotten Chris Bosh. They did not keep Chandler Parsons. They failed miserably at having LeBron James be born nearby. But they have something the Heat, Mavericks and Cavaliers do not. “The best all-around basketball player in the NBA” is apparently the Rockets shooting guard. All is well. The disappointments and controversies of July somehow overlooked this most salient point. Feel better?"
Ridiculous. All the greatest players have that unfazed, almost irrational arrogance. But with Harden its very rational. Dude is an offensive juggernaut and improved his defense to the point where he is leading the MVP candidacy
Glad we didn't trade him for Kevin Love like some were suggesting. As if Love was some sort of defensive wizard himself. Harden has clearly taken his game to a new level on both ends of the court.
Good God who said this? This should be ban worthy. I'd take the no defense Harden of 2 years ago over any iteration of Love that's ever existed. At least he dragged a bummy Rockets team to the playoffs in his *first year*.
I can't hate on him. I like when players are like this If I was a nba superstar like on the kobe, harden, Durant, lebron level all my interviews would be sarcastic. I would try to sound like a douche so I can laugh at the story on espn the next day
He knew everyone laughed when he said it but right now he is laughing at everyone at least for the meantime
Harden putting money where is mouth is. The statement may not be true entirely, but at least he elevated his game to MVP levels this year so I can respect that.
I think it was said at some point during his awful playoff showing. He has improved now to the point that he belongs in the conversation with Bron an Durant.
Nope. It was said during his time with the Olympics team after George and Durant were out. Of course his comments after that are not quote worthy. He was framed. "Bottom Line: you're on this team and other stars aren't because they're concerned for their health. Do you consider yourself better than these other players"? He might be...
Gosh, I just really hope he proves the haters wrong in the playoffs. Obviously, he's doing it in the reg season, but if he does it in the postseason... he'll take a giant next step. I'm absolutely SICK of seeing NBA fans saying "Oh, he did great today but he won't become a superstar until he gets out of the first round" or "Harden is super overrated and he always ****s the bed when playoffs come"... I hope THIS is the year Harden does his thing.
