I know some people might be a little hesitant about the name and the associated but this brother is the polar opposite in demeanor than the older. He has all the physical gifts that the older brother had but he has the killer instinct. This is my pick if we get the 1st pick.

Killer instinct? I saw him against Utah State, he looked horrible. Maybe if he's there in the 4th or 5th round you take a flyer on him.

It will all come down to the combine.

If he measures out as the best QB in the draft, the Texans should definitely consider taking him... I don't really care about the "Carr" thing. They weren't identical twins... and pro sports is littered with brothers where one is successful and the other is meh.

I'll start... John and Patrick McEnroe.

Michael Jordan and Larry Jordan, but my example shows how different brothers can be...when one cant even make the big leagues.

I'd take Derek if he performs well during the combine. He has a lot of talent.

I don't know how good he is but it would be stupid to let his last name factor at all into any decision.

No it wouldn't. The Houston crowd would be so much harder on him because of his name it wouldn't be fair to Derek. Besides Derek has already come out and said that the Texans were unfair to David and made him the scapegoat.

That would all change if he succeeds.

Houston has proven they'll be tough on any QB that doesn't get it done.

Watched the video--had only seen some of Carr during game play this year. But watching that video...honestly I didn't come away super impressed. If those are his highlights...I worry. He never had to deal with pressure. Most throws required significant WR adjustment--which is fine, but it doesn't show me a super impressive QB. Release seems like it could be difficult if he had to deal with pressure consistently.

I'm not saying he's bad--but I don't see someone that screams "immediate rookie QB stud"

You are dead wrong if you think it was the receivers who were adjusting to his ball, let alone significant ones. You need to pay attention to where the defender(s) are. Carr's throws are on the money: just out of reach of the defenders hands, and delivered well within the receivers' catching radius and stride.
