...and bring up Lyles, Meier, Clemens, and that 11th-grader they've been scouting. And put Bagwell at third. Hey, just thought we'd cut to the chase this year. Why wait 'till May?:grin:
Heh. Thought I'd change it up this year and post the normal whines rather than wait until whiners post them and then make fun of them. Like I said, let's just cut to the chase.
Hey, I want Lyles still in OKC so that I can see him have a chance at winning in Round Rock. I'd like to see Lyles at least pitch 5 good games in OKC before they even think of bringing him up. Confidence is a good thing in baseball.
Good Grief, Charlie Brown! The rebuilding Astros lost to the Phillies & Roy H. in the 9th in Philly. Yes I'm pissed, but the season isn't lost. Most have the Astros finishing last in the Central. Have patience sports fans. Otherwise you're gonna have a heart attach.
Take Lyon out of the closers role. He can't pitch at all. Carlos Lee is fat. I'm pretty sure one of those is actually true...
I have no problem with Brad Mills, but Ed Wade is a JOKE. When he was hired in Houston, there was plenty of evidence out there to convince me the guy had no clue what he was doing in free agency, or in trades. That was ok though... I thought I could live with his bonehead trades if he was able to develop a strong farm system. Then his first order of business was to gut our already below average farm system for garbage like Tejada. On top of that, he drafts someone in the first round of the draft that leaves me somewhere in between scratching my head and beating it with a tire iron. Whatever... nothing will change until the team is sold, and after that... I guess we'll see.
Terrible trades such as Randy Wolf? Latroy Hawkins? Jose Valverde? Angel Sanchez? He hasn't done as well in FA, but he has had hits and misses. None of which have hurt the future of the franchise.
Randy Wolf was a great pick up. I do give him that. Valverde was a great player, but an elite closer is a complete waste when the team behind him is largely garbage. You can say that about any position, but he was especially useless thanks to the pathetic rotation. He was constantly pitching in non closing situations for reps. Jury is still out on Sanchez, but I like what I see so far as well. So maybe I overstated how bad his trades with Houston have been. He's still well below .500 on that front though.
What the hell does Tal Smith even do besides collects a fat check? What value has he brought to the team? Whatever! Whenever the new owner takes over T-Smith, Wade, and Mills are gone.
Keep Mills. No reason he should be gone. Good baseball guy that has the respect of his players. I expect good things from him, hopefully the orginization does it's part. Everyone else can go.
