If the movie goes on to sequels (or if Odetta gets written into the first one), they will have to rewrite the dynamic between Odetta and Roland or ignore it completely. For movie goers who have not read the series - no big deal. To devotees of the series, it may create issues.
wasnt mcconaughey also being talked about playing randall flagg on the stand? thatd be cool since arent they like the same person?
I'm not so sure if I'll be bothered by this mainly because she'll still have another "adversary". Maybe I'm just trying to be as positive as possible because I never believed it would happen.
Please oh please be good. It's a great story, great universe, but the last 3 books were painful to slog through.
I had hoped this series got the Game of Thrones treatment from HBO, but it looks like the movies may be the way to go.
Trailer is out and I really don't like it, gives off a total different vibe than the books and seems to be a pretty generic NYC/hero vs anti-hero action flick. Maybe the following movies will show more of the old times, but this one seems extremely bland and focused on matrix-style action.
Looks fun, sad that we wont get to have an Eddie. On a sidenote, they chose the blandest looking actor for Jake.
Man, I've wanted to read the books for a while now...that trailer is not what I expected. Didn't realize it was set in the real world....much less another movie set in New York City *yawn*
