He'd be a great pickup for us, he's on a very fair contract at only 8 mill for the next 3 or 4 seasons. He averaged 15, 6 boards, 2 ast, 1 stl, has range, good size at 6'10 245, only 25.

Jones will likely request more money in FA next year then Morris, but Jones's cap hold is only 6 million at the same time.

As a big time Kansas Jayhawks basketball fan, the Morris twins are disappointingly low class.

 

Especially since we passed on Kawhi. But Morey has more than made up for it. Just proves you can't win them all.

 

In all fairness, while the Rockets blew the pick by taking Marcus Morris over Kawhi Leonard specifically (about which I will always be mad), Marcus has become a legit NBA rotation player. There are PLENTY of late lottery/mid-first rounders who don't amount to that much. Hell, I think Detroit made a terrific trade to get Marcus (locked up on a now-reasonable deal paying $5M per season) for basically nothing.

Marcus is certainly NOT a bust. He was just taken right ahead of a vastly superior player. (If you think he's a bone-head, that's a separate issue entirely.)
