Didn't they already get a prospect for him when he over-performed last year? Trying to squeeze more value out of him is just greedy at this point!
Was Qualls not available tonight? He only threw 12 pitches last night. Porter pitched him in back to back games over the weekend - why he was in an 8-1 victory on Sunday only Bo knows, but does not throw him back to back in save situations?
Porter gonna Porter is synonymous to Veras gonna Veras. 'Stros win the season series over the Yanks, sweet!!
Because he wanted to get him some work. It is also a 3 run lead, not a 1 run lead. FWIW, Veras has a 3.00ERA, 1.28WHIP, and 9K/9 since rejoining the Astros.
Was that this year that the New York papers were talking about how teams in the AL West had an advantage by playing Houston and that it might cost the Yankees a playoff spot? I wish I could find that article.

So... I hated on Grossman pretty hard this year, but have to admit that I am impressed by this recent stint. If Grossman plays center (assuming Fowler and Springer man the corners), Grossman is a serviceable CF with these numbers: Spoiler Then again, small sample size. If the Astros don't pursue an OF this off season (which would be an interesting thing to do if they want to spend money), I could live with this Grossman.
After a .293 July, he has cooled to .246 in August. Yes, better than his pre July numbers. But merely serviceable IMO as opposed to impressive.
Absolutely! His 49 point drop from July to August, if it continues, means he will be horrendous by the end of September again
True there is a drop off, but the walks have to be factored in as well. .423 vs .367 is a big drop off for OBP, but still leaves him in a very respectable area. I mean, Altuve has been tremendous hitting this year and only has an OBP of .375 (I am not comparing the two due to sample size) and that can really show the power of walks.
Remind me why Marc Krauss is playing? The dude can somewhat hit lefties, but has no business playing a right hander: .191/.278/.318 triple slash. Sure... he needs work and ABs... but OKC has games, too.
