his scene in "Trainwreck" shouting at Tony Romo "Dallas SUCKS!" was hilarious since, well he signed with the Mavs after shooting that movie

Was he that washed up this season? Didn't really watch much of the heat this season. Was he not getting enough minutes? I feel like he could have been a decent player because he actually had a midrange.

For real. Won ROY with them, played with Nash, etc.

Without D'Antoni and Nash, I don't think Stoudemire would have been as good as he was.

Makes it sound like he's retiring but most players don't submit their retirement papers to the league until long after their playing days are over.

Knicks won't be hanging his jersey in the MSG rafters for what he did for the Knicks, that would be a travesty.

The Knicks (and NYC) treated him right. Didn't he also rediscover his Jewish heritage there? I can understand his decision.

The real question is whether or not he is HOF worthy.

Well, I did have his best season (statically) with the Knicks. That was the first year he signed with them. But yeah, he will always be remembered as a Phoenix Sun, destroying Yao and the Rockets on every occasion.

Going to say probably not. Other than winning Rookie of the year and making some All-NBA 1st/2nd teams and All-star games I don't remember him winning anything else.

He made more 1st and 2nd team all nba than yao. His stats were pretty comparable. He had more team success. Through their first 8 years they had similar stats, but Amare did a little better.

Maybe not first ballot but you could make a case for Stat to make it some day. Can't compare him to Yao though, Yao got in because of his international impact on the game.

Amare is just one of a dozen Allstars.

Yao was the man in China, the freak of nature, the guy!

He is not retiring until he says so.

He got offers from China and Europe. So just from the NBA it seems.

Never heard of this before lol

When I first saw it, I thought he was signing with the Knicks, and was quoted on planning to retire a Knick.

So what is this exactly? When every NBA player retires do they have to retire under a team?
