This sleeveless would've been awesome. Rockets could've learned from this clean look for their Clutch City one. Anyways, I think for the Rockets to do a full 180, it would probably take a Kevin Durant stating he would seriously want to play for us, but not want to be caught dead in any of the ones we have. If I were a big star like Durant, I would seriously have it in my contract that I will have final say or influence in any jersey they put out. Can you imagine a convo between Durant, his agent, Morey and McHale. Durant: "my agent has printed out some very specific requirements for me to consider playing for the Rockets which cannot be altered. Agent passes it to Morey who is kind of baffled and McHale just laughs because in his day you just wanted to play and looks to the ground. Morey reads it and gets to the jersey bit: "Uhmm...hmmfff...are you serious? You need us to change our jerseys as you will refuse to play in them. Agent: "Yes, my client is very clear on that as..." Durant interrupts and tells them that the bottom line is that he wants to be reunited with Harden and get away from Westbrook's hogballing us, so change the jerseys and he'll sign. You think any player would seriously not want to play for a certain team because of their jerseys and speak up about this?
Looks like all the "pride jerseys" were required to have sleeves, so at least that much was out of their design control. I like the look of the Hornets alternates, but it has been previously discussed that it would be awkward to write "clutch city" all on a single line as it is too many letters (without decreasing the font size). Also, is it possible that the NBA required them to do away with the ketchup and mustard alternate in order to get all these other alternates? This isn't the Oregon football team.
Then decrease the font size! Something else, besides the sleeves, seems "off" about the CC jersey. Think the font may too big. Playing around in editor, I noticed this as well. CLUGCH CIGY!
They need to italicize the words. Maybe even slant it. That's how we remember that "font" being used. Looks out of place when just lazily used in typeface
Never like the font style of "ROCKetS" on the old jerseys. Either "ROCKETS" or "Rockets." The lowercase "e" and "t", just seems stupid to me. And now to commemorate "ROCKetS" we have "CLUGCH CIGY" SMH.
Nothing. Maybe we just gotta get used to it. North Carolina might have looked funny if we didn't grow up seeing it:
Technically, sure...but looking at the yellow on the side..it stops right where a sleeveless jersey would...literally looks like they just patched up last year's alternates
Are we really getting rid of this jersey for the Clutch City? I'm hoping we are just adding not subtracting.
Lol I'm saying they look like they didn't even bother buying new jerseys and simply had sleeves sewn on and letters ironed on the used jerseys...
Exactly, how lazy is that...just design a freaking new one. Clutch city together would've made it somewhat bearable. The only positive is that teams will recognise the name again along with our run last year and talk about that during games.
The yellow is such an overkill. It needs to be a trim color. It's way too loud in the side panels and numbering.
