    Chilli sauce is real killer

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2005211088,00.html

    By HEATHER BROWNE
A NEW chilli sauce goes on sale today that is so hot it could KILL.

Ultra-concentrated “16 Million Reserve” is the hottest science can make.

The sauce is 30 times hotter than the spiciest pepper and 8,000 times more fiery than Tabasco.

Diners must sign a disclaimer recommending “protective gloves and eye wear” — but even sweating testers in safety gear were blinded by tears for 30 minutes.

Just 999 bottles of it are on sale at £105 each.

Medical experts fear it could kill asthmatics or hospitalise a user who touches a sensitive part of the body afterwards.

It is made of pure capsaicin, the chemical that makes peppers “hot”. It takes tons of peppers to make 1lb of capsaicin.

Creator Blair Lazar, 35, specialises in “extreme food” in New Jersey, US.

After trying it, he said: “It’s like having your tongue hit with a hammer. Man, it hurt.”

The sauce is named after its score on the chilli heat measure, the Scoville Unit.

Reserve scores 16 million units, while a Red Savina, the world’s spiciest pepper, measures just 570,000.

    Would you try it?

I honestly didn't think it was legal to produce pure capsaicin...

Could you provide a link? I'd like to send this to a coworker.

And to answer your question, no.

So it's pure capsaicin? What does it taste like? I mean, I want my hot sauces to have flavor.

I buy some of Blair's hot sauces. I was going to get some of this, but I could've sworn the price was insane. I think it was $250 when I looked it up about 2 or 3 weeks ago. But then when you only have to use a millimicronanodrop of it to blow your head off...

The hottest stuff I've tried is Satan's Blood. That was pretty hot at 800,000 Scoville units.

The stuff I use regularly is Dave's Insanity line and Mad Dog 357.

That's the problem. Once they get this hot, it's rarely about flavor anymore. You're in pain too much to taste anything. lol.

And these aren't hot sauces per se. They're "food additives". The FDA won't allow you to call anything that hot a "hot sauce" because there's some dunce somewhere that will pour half the bottle on his burger trying to act like a man. :)

If anybody wants to spend $150 on hot sauce, I just found the following link :

    http://www.hotsauce.com/detail.aspx?ID=638

(well, it's cheaper than the $250 I saw for it last week...lol)

There's no friggin' way I'd try it.

    True Story:
Years ago, when I worked at Compaq, I went to lunch with some friends. At Buffalo Wild Wings, My friend wanted to try the "Blazin" wings. I said I would try them, too. As we ate them, it didn'g burn. It was only after we stopped eating that it would start burning. I ate a total of seven. Everywhere around my mouth burned - lips, tongue, gums, roof-of-mouth... everything.
After a while, we went back to the office, but I wasn't feeling very well. As time went on, I could feel the wings leaving a trail of burn as it moved through my body. My esophagus, my stomach... and all the while, my lips and mouth didn't stop burning. Any area that was affected stayed affected. My stomach began to make noises that sounded like a whale, and eventually, I had to go to the bathroom.
As the wings made a prompt exit from my body the trail of burn continued. I now had a path of pain entering my body on one end and exiting my body on the other.
Somehow, I was able to continue working. I very nearly called in sick.
Sometimes people feel the need to be Mr. Macho Man. The tough guy who can handle a little hot sauce. But the truth of the matter is, it's a chemical that really messes with your body.
I still eat at BW3 (I get their "medium" wings). Anytime I hear about someone else wanting to try the Blazin wings, I can't help but remember my nightmare experience.

I just looked at that link I posted and read down a bit further. There's no way that sauce is only 100 times as hot as a jalapeno. Jalapenos are usually around 3-5,000 scovilles. Habaneros are around 300,000-500,000. That thing is 16,000,000.

Their Blazin' wings are pretty hot, but that sauce tastes nasty. A good tasting hot wing sauce is the Bentley sauce at Hooters. It's not for everybody - especially if you don't like the vinegary bite. It's also not that hot any more.

Try the wild at BW3. By far the best there, IMO.

I need some suga baby. I just wonder if it is possible that a hot sauce could render you inable to complete a sex act.

It depends on what kind of sex act it is. If a chick just had some really hot sauce, I'd be unwilling to get a BJ from her for a while....

I think I've tried all of them there except Mild which I doubt I'd like. I like hotter wings.

I like the Wild. Can't stand the garlic one. I like the Caribbean jerk, thai, hot bbq, and sweet bbq.

My favorite wing places are still Hooters and Wings To Go. They have bigger chicken pieces - no scrawny chicken legs like at Wing Stop.
