Predict the amount and length of DMo's contract, with the ROckets or with anyone else.

His qualifying offer is 4.4 million

For reference, here are some other 4/5 who signed contracts in 2016 that should be just above or below his range.

Ian Mahinmi 4 years, $64 million
Solomon Hill 4 years $48 million
Meyers Leonard 4 years $41 million
Jon Leuer 4 years $42 million
Al Jefferson 3 years, $30 million
Boban Marj. 3 years, $21 million
    Al jefferson 3 years $30million
Mirza Teletovic 3 years $30 million
Darrel Arthur 3 years $23 million
Trevor Booker 2 years $18.5 million
Festus Ezeli 2 years $15 million

I'm predicting DMO signs for 1 year at 10 million or less. I don't believe any team is offering more than 3 years guaranteed for 30+ million (ala AL jefferson's/Mirza's contract and above) and do not think it would make any sense for DMO to sign a contract a contract like Festus Ezeli did, where the 2nd year is a team option.

Hard to say. I think it's clear that a lot of teams, including the Rockets, see him as damaged goods.

Yeah, at this point i wouldn't be that surprise if he ends up signed for 4 year 40 million or takes the QO of 4.4 million :)

I predicted way back when like in March that DMO deserved the 2016 salary cap equivalent of a $4 million contract in 2013. I think that still sounds right. I actually looked up the numbers & did the calculation. It comes out to $7 million. So, one year at $7 million. He just did not look like a good NBA player after the injury. Real bummer.

    Thanks blah for the poll.

I think back injury is a big concern and teams are scared about Detroit backing out. I think 8 or 9 for one year or maybe something like 3 years for 21-24 mil.

Best Case: Tyler Zeller type of contract:

    $8M guaranteed 2016-17
    $12M Team Option (Year Two)

Worst case, given his 'damaged goods' status...as little as:

    $6M Guaranteed 2016-17
    $10M Team Option (Year Two)

I'm gonna call it 4/34-36M... with a team option on the last year or two....
Enough that DMo knows he pretty much set for life... with Murray locking him up for multiple years if he pans out - but an exit strategy if he don't...

My gut says that he is going to get locked up somewhere on a 4 yr/ 10 mil per. I do not think he has proven to be worth that, but given the market and the 'ceiling' he has, I think that is what he gets.

My gut says 2 years at 10 million total. And my gut says that's generous.

I'm always right, friend. Or don't you remember the D&D years?

I suspect it will be the Qualifying offer. I think he will get on himself.

Either that or a 1+1 with 2nd year being player option for a bit more than QO.

I don't see the Rockets going with a large offer, when they don't have to, and I don't see Dmo or his agent taking a low ball offer in today's market.

So, that is why I think it will be the QO in the end. My GUESS is that the Rockets are offering around 10m a year for a 4 year deal, and it is probably hard to turn down a guaranteed 40m for a chance at 20m a year next year.

And for the Record in the D&D Batman Jones was NEVER right, he was always left.

I could see a one + one player 10 million total deal being on the table. The question in my mind is if a euro team will offer more.
