They wouldn't consider Houston as a replacement since this city stupidly voted for a similar bill.

I don't know why. Not too many gay people watching basketball.

Can this statement be backed up? Or is it just your usual nonsense?

Well I live in Houston. So I know a lot of gay people and I can tell you 9 out of 10 of them will never go to a game, let alone watch one.

Well I live in Austin. So I know a lot of gay people and I can tell you 9 out of 10 of them will go to a game if the NBA puts a team in Austin, and they would certainly watch one.

Wonder how this effects Houston getting future All Star considerations.

This isn't some sort of move to grab a larger market, so your point, which has no basis in reality, doesn't even matter. It's a social stand by a very public corporation, and I applaud them for it.

Go back to making the case that TJ + Lamb + Royce > AD.

    HURRAY FORTHE LGBT Community
Let's move from a state that discriminates against them
To a state that summarily assassinates a black man that is pinned down by cops

When you start making political statements for one group . . . .the expectation is that you will do it for all groups.
however I doubt that will happen.

Guys don't be so easily offended. Besides if they were to pull the same thing here before superbowl, would you feel the same? I doubt it.

LGBT are a very small minority in the US. Although people support LGBT rights, that demographic wasn't going to significantly impact the All Star game. The NBA merely used this as an excuse to host the All Star weekend in a bigger city that's more financially profitable for them.

I feel bad for NBA fans in Charlotte. They got screwed.

I don't have tickets, Texans wont be there, and I would not see a penny of the money the city would generate from the Super Bowl. Plus the All Star game/weekend is just an event for fans, it doesn't determine the championship. If the Hornets were in the Finals and the NBA said they wouldn't do any games there, then that would be different.
