We need to go after this guy. A 3 that could distribute and keep the ball moving would do wonders in this offense. I've seen a few articles saying that he is keen on staying with charlotte for a discount. So.. why don't we just drop a ton of money on his door step? He is 27 and will be in his prime for the next 5 years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dS4i6J2UxI8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVfkwk_oiGs I feel we will need to trade Ariza in order to get rid of Brewer. If not, then Ariza can come off the bench and play the 'Iguodala' role. That would be a great luxury to have a I'm sure Ariza would look a whole lot better with reduced minutes. Lastly it would be good just to stop playing against this guy. A known Rocket Killer. I still remember when he put Parsons in the torture chamber.
I'm not sure on Batum. He seems to play a little bit better when his teams are in the lower half of the league pace wise. That said, he's never actually been on a really fast paced team. The fastest pace team he's been on was 12th fastest in the league. This year it was 17th, and more often than not its been in the bottom half of the league. I'm not sure he has the ballhandling skills to be GREAT in an MDA offense. But it's definitely possible. He seems like an unlikely get, though: 1. Probably resign with Charlotte 2. You know DM is going to go after Durant first, and we know that FAs don't wait around while you go after someone else first at your position. 3. The Rockets already have Trevor, who will on the decline, is on a much better contract But, if he did agree to come, and it gives you the opportunity to move Trevor to fill a need or gives you legit depth, it could certainly work.
not really a fan of batum. i don't think hes terrible but I also don't believe hes as good as many want to believe he is.
I think he's pretty good, complete player but, a bit worried about his injuries these past two seasons so yeah, not sure about maxing him...but obviously, if Durant is not coming Batum is a good option.
All these guys are role players and are about to get max deals. Lawd have mercy. Injuries are a concern but I'd bring back Chandler Parsons. http://bkref.com/tiny/4fpfo http://bkref.com/tiny/Olze0
Batum is very happy in Charlotte not because of the city but because he gets to do what he wants. He gets to run the offence and their lockeroom has amazing chemistry. His role is the best he has had in his carreer. He voluntarily wants to stay even if it means a small discount while he knows he can get his max $ by multiple teams. Why do you think if we offer him a little more he will want to come here? Do you honestly believe he and his agent are not aware of his market value and that many teams will be willing to offer him the full max?
Give up on hoping for Batum The guy loves Charlotte, doesn't want to leave. Their has great chemistry. Everyone's expecting a commitment on the 1st day of FA
Is not the perfect guy for D'Antoni's system and he was not that great in the playoffs + he will not leave Charlotte so no.
