Wow. On two of those shots, he is like 4 feet behind the 3 point line!

Brooks must cross the logo and decides he is inside his 3pt range. He takes a ton of 3's from way behind the 3pt line(and makes a good portion of them).

Just for fun, I watched batkins' clip again. AB hit his 3-pointers when the scores were:

    MEM vs HOU
    (1) 5:4
    (2) 47:39
    (3) 57:61
    (4) 70:74
    (5) 70:77
    (6) 84:91
    (7) 88:98 (with 4:03 left in the 4th)

Can you point out which one is the 'garbage shot'?

I think he was criticizing hit shot selection. In other words, saying he shouldn't have shot them in the first place.

Hey, when you're hot, it's never a bad shot. That's how you rack up 7 in a game.

I see, I missed that point.

However, the only ones that considered 'bad shot selection' were the two 30-footers (the 3rd and 5th), and he took them when the shot clock was at 3 and 5 so they were forced shot. The last one was a little questionable too, but he was already 6 for 6.

Those weren't "bad shots" by AB. Those are the ones (even the couple of 25 footers) AB normally takes and makes on an acceptable basis. 6 out of 7 were catch-and-shoots, except one where AB tried to jab step to create some separation before launching a deep one. It didn't feel like he forced any of them.

The 3 pointer Ariza made against the Nuggets late in that game, that was a bad shot.
