up to ~$450 now. Im sure this bubble will pop soon and the price will go back down to around $300 and then some annoying pricks will say 'told you so', but until then, fun fun fun.

I think 2016 will be an interesting year for bitcoin, I've been studying and following it since last year when one of my customers first introduced me to it. Just saw this and though it might be of interest to some - history of bitcoin in a single infographic: http://futurism.com/images/the-entire-history-of-bitcoin-in-a-single-infographic/
Ganja's shown incredible restraint not coming back to gloat! Unless our new member, named after bitcoin's founding group (or his son) and registered in Dec 2015 has a cc.net past????? . congrats to the bitcoin disciples. Enjoy your new fortunes!
If I recall his average price was still significantly higher like in the 600s, but I may be completely wrong there. Edit....just realized who you quoted lol! He should have named himself SonOfGanja or GanjasSeed
Open Bazaar released today, this is what could topple Amazon/Ebay https://blog.openbazaar.org/what-is-openbazaar/ Spoiler
Hahaha I had forgotten about this thread and just now seeing these posts - no relation to either Satoshi or the other member, just a cryptocurrency fan, hence the username. We'll see what happens in the not-so-distant future, the halving is also coming up in July: http://phys.org/news/2016-04-halving-horror-story-bitcoin.html
popular theory is it's China hedging by purchasing a bunch of bitcoin but then that's always the theory when the price spikes the market cap is still low enough that any billionaire who suddenly decides to sell/buy a can impact the price quite a bit
Just so that I can understand. Around the time this thread was started, if I would've taken a loan for $50k and bought 10 3.5ghz 6-Core Mac Pro computers and all the other stuff that I'd need for mining Bitcoin. Would I be a millionaire today? Would someone on the "deep web (idk)" have seen what I was doing and come after my money? Has there been people who have really became rich by doing something similar to what I described?
I think all the inefficiencies have been squeezed out of mining, so you need the most cutting edge hardware, coldest environments, and cheapest electricity to get any kind of ROI.
