Saw this earlier. The officers walked a very fine line following that man into the building. Luckily for the officers involved, nothing will happen to them. If anyone has to pay for this, it will be the supervisors over the officers and that department. Law states that in a felony stop, you can follow a suspect into the Consulate building if you are in "Hot pusuit" of the individual. But if I was in the situation, I would not do that. It is much more reasonable to get your superiors involved, and let the state department handle it. You know that the suspect is in a secure location and at that point only has one way out. Just play the waiting game for him to leave the property or wait for the State Department to go take care of it.
