I'm told #Mavs did NOT know, before signing him, that Rashard Lewis needs knee surgery. I understand the Mavenfreude here, but: the procedure is probably pretty routine and minor; I don't want to be applauding anyone's knee surgery; and the Mavs are not counting on the dude for a whole lot of contribution anyway, I wouldn't imagine. (debbie downer image)
Dude seriously look at his numbers for last season. Only intoxicants ingested in that club could have induced Cuban to want this guy. Not trying to be mean, but look at his numbers! We never, never would have gone for Rashard Lewis this offseason. 2013-2014 16.2 mpg 4.5 ppg .415 FG% .343 3P% 1.8 rpg 1.0 apg PER 10.7
1 yr vet min; nothing problematic. More annoying than anything. This is very reminiscent of our deal with Camby last year
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/rashar...tml?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Lewis' injury was found in a team physical done for the signing, unclear whether Mavs will void the contract. I wonder if the Rockets will pursue Lewis if he has a reasonable chance of recovering sometime during the season.
It depends on the terms, if a contract is premised on passing a physical, they can still void it. Look at Chuck Hayes experience as a point of reference.
