The Rockets are back in the mediocre zone. I like Daryl but he needs to go. Trade Harden to the Lakers for their 2, and 2-3 more firsts, and let Dwight go. Then you hire D'Antoni or whomever, bring in whomever to put up points, and grind it out sucking for a while until you can rebuild the reserves to help get ya back in the contending mode. I would trade the Rockets roster today for more than 1/2 of the league, including Philly, Minnesota, Milwaukee, Utah, etc. I see no other way. Harden is a premaddona who can't be counted on to be the team leader. His value won't be better than it is right now, especially with this team surrounding him. Maybe Magic and Kobe can try to explain who he has to become to win a trophy. Pick up Simmons, Ingram, or Murray and build around the youngsters. (D-mo, Capella, KJ, Decker(?), Harrell, etc.) Burn it down!!!
Then if Ingram or Simmons doesn't work out, you will be crying and bi****** about not having a star on the team. Let it play out.
first, dumb thread. second, recognizing its a dumb thread, in what world would you not trade Harden to the 76ers instead of the Lakers? The 76ers would give you the #1, plus one of their bigs, and maybe a future first as well. Because they need backcourt talent in a bad bad bad way. Saric, #1 pick, 2017 76ers first round pick (unprotected), 2017 Lakers pick (that they didn't get this year, top 3 protected next year as well, hopefully lakers get a bit better) for Harden. I mean at least the above doesn't get you laughed off the board... even though it still isn't done by the Rockets.
This organization, owner and fan base simply does not have the patience to implement a total rebuild.
