He's not coming back. He went to the Colts so he could stick it to the Texans. He'll likely try to see if a playoff team would want him and if not retire.
Sign a one day contract & retire a Texan? Last year was obviously a disaster but I just have a hard time believing he dropped off that much in one year.
I think he was already slowing. That second surgery on his hamstring to get him ready for the playoffs wasn't good for him long term
I agree there would be some slowing down, it's just crazy to think he went from 1400 yards in 2013 to 500 in 2015. Although his average yards/reception was purely volume based on the number of catches. Makes you wonder how much is him slowing down vs how bad of a place Indy was in last year.
The big difference is that they weren't forcing the ball the way they did in Houston. Andre doesn't really get open all that often anymore, so either you just throw it to him anyway, or if you aren't willing to force it to a person that is covered, you don't throw it to him very often at all. Just look at his last year in Houston, they targeted him 146 times just to gain 900 yards. Very few teams are willing to target a guy that can't get open that many times for so little gain. Before we go blaming QB's, that very same year Nuk Hopkins was targeted only 127 times and managed over 1200 yards
I wouldn't blame him at all, but I do wonder how much he cares about his HOF candidacy. He's borderline now but if he can put a couple more years of and get the 1000+yds and 40+ catches JR referenced, then he makes a stronger case.
Time for him to decide whether or not to jump on the coat tails of another team to try and get that ring.....so glad it worked out the way it did, with the Colts.
Exactly. His whole plan was to go there and try to stick it to the Texans. Turns out the Texans ended up with a better record and they finally were able to beat the Colts in Indy.
