Aggie and UT biases aside, can Manziel succeed at the NFL level? Apart from his off the field "issues". I haven't seen him play often.
It's more than just having a good time. Accountability. If he said he was going to stop drinking and/or stay away from partying during the season, then he went against his word.
Manziel is an idiot. With his history with alcohol he just has to stay away from clubs and booze. How can he not see this? I think he may have a mental problem or something. The Browns give him a chance and Manziel screws it up.
What history with alcohol has caused a detriment to his life?? No DUIs, no fights and he has actually performed well, went 33-45 for 372 and a TD with his running backs gaining 10 yards on the ground! Hell Lawson has a bigger problem with alcohol and the Rockets never told him to stay away from the club smh
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">And if Manziel is done w/the Browns after this year, that means their last 3 1st-round QBs will have lasted a TOTAL of 7 yrs with the team.</p>— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) <a href="https://twitter.com/AlbertBreer/status/669274524999897089">November 24, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Wow, that sure is a steep price the Browns are willing to pay over "principles". He didn't even drink.
Look, I'm a Manziel fan. I want to watch him play. But, he went through rehab for something. Drugs, alcohol, something. He's about to get his big chance to be a starting QB, and now this happens. For his own benefit, he just needs to be a choir boy for a little while. What is so hard about understanding this?
When the only light on your team is what one person is or isnt doing, it probably won't sit well with a coach trying to run an entire team. Agreed it kinda sucks that a 20 something year old NFLer can't have fun on his off week but not sure what was said and/or promised. But if some folks here were getting Watt fatigue, can't imagine Brown fans being any better with a two win team and nothing but negativity (warranted or not) on their newly starting QB.
He didn't drink? Witnesses say he was drinking at both clubs on both nights. There is a video of him holding a bottle of champagne. Was he just holding it for a friend?
He probably isn't good enough to be worth the trouble, but this is the NFL. Greg Hardy has a job its time the Browns fired the coach.
Johnny can join Ryan Mallett next year when they are both jobless. At least they can party it up and sleep-in though.
In a vacuum it does sound pretty stupid. I'd just play him because that is what the franchise needs right now. Test the goods and see what you have on-field.
