There was better QB play last year than the season before it the major difference was that the Texans weren't passing the ball as much last season than the season before that. As part of our offense we threw the ball about 150 fewer times at a higher rate while throwing fewer interceptions and the same number of TD's. Part of that was forcing 180+ targets to Andre in 2013 so that he could get his 100 receptions. We decided we weren't going to do that anymore. we threw 40 fewer passes Andre's way and fewer passes overall and it helped the offense and we won more games, going forward we planned on throwing it his way even less with the hopes of taking another step forward and he wouldn't accept it. If the Colts throw the ball at Andre 180+ times so he can get his 100 receptions, it's a huge win for the Texans.

Well it went without saying that he wasn't worth anywhere near what his cap hit was going to be so obviously he'd have had to take a pay cut to stay around but I was talking about the role they had for him if he had decided to stay around. They weren't going to keep forcing the ball his way because it wasn't helping the team. He got upset when they told him that he'd have to accept a pay cut and a reduced role or they planned on cutting him.

It was all about the money Bobbythegreat. You have Andre on your team, trust you are not cutting his time up like that.

Smoke screen bro. Nothing but that smoke.

I don't think it was. He was going to have to take a pay cut to come back, that's not in question but I think they were really wanting to move towards a system that would lead to wins rather than Andre Johnson stats and he didn't like that. Some guys just can't cope with the fact that their age is catching up to them and they aren't the player they once were.

They went 9-7 Bobby so their system was working with Andre as well. He wasn't out there demanding the ball. He just knows how to get open and our QB's trusted him the most. Yes he dropped more than usual but that could be because he missed camp.

They went 2-14 the season before that when Andre got 180 targets to get his 100 receptions.

You know just as well as I know that's not the reason why we went 2-14 brother.

Well yeah there were lots of reasons we went 2-14, Johnson certainly didn't help anything.

Apparently he does. That's what insecurity will do to you....or OCD...or both...I don't know what his issue is, but I wish people would ignore him and stop responding to him

The negativity and the #HotTakes get pretty old, you'd think after as much discussion as there has been that we wouldn't still have to keep re-hashing the same old topics, but it keeps happening and it's not me bringing it up. If anything I'm trying to stop the madness.

Actually, you respond to every single post you disagree with, and engage in about 6 discussions over the same topic at once. You're not stopping the madness, you're adding to it.

He's like that ex-boyfriend who says he is over the relationship but still stalks her FB page and keeps sub-tweeting her.
