    Stephen A. Smith, in analyzing the Houston Rockets vs. New York Knicks game tonight (12/17/2012), says (1:45 mark):

    "Some dude named Chandler Parsons, who I never heard of in my life, dropped about 34 on them (in their last meeting)."

    Stephen A. also bags on Jeremy Lin, saying he didn't want the bright lights in New York City "no matter what he says." Also pats himself on the back for saying the Knicks would be better off without him.

    Well, there are a lot of things that Stephen A. Smith has never heard of in his life. "Inside voice," for one thing.

    But really, if your job is to talk about sports, an in this case about the NBA, maybe you should educate yourself enough to know, or at least hear of, the regular starters on the teams you are about to discuss. Would a political reporter in 2007/2008 say "And some dude called Barrack Obama, who I have never heard of in my whole life, just won the New Hampshire Primary!"

    How do some of these people have jobs? Seriously, really think about a billion people in the world are poor and would kill to make a tenth or a hundredth of what Steven A Smith makes and guaranteed 99% will do it better. Will never respect a reporter who doesn't do his research and loves to make an ass out of himself.

    To be fair he did call the Jeremy Lin thing on the nail. the Knicks are definitely better without him.

    Also Parsons is not a well known name yet in the NBA.

    These are "analyst". I would expect them to at least know who the starting five players from teams in the NBA.
